The long time congressman Barney Frank has reportedly handed in his notice and will be leaving the poker world next year!

Barney Frank has been in politics for over 30 years and is certainly an advocate of legalized poker. He started in 1981 and will be leaving the casino world behind in 2012.

Frank is best know for his liberal take on most subjects and has always worked hard to push the things he feels are right! He has always gone with what he thinks rather than what everyone else thinks and this is why he has gained him such a status.

Civil rights of minorities are one of the particular subjects he worked towards, despite it not being as popular with everyone else.

In terms of the gambling, Barney Frank has worked extremely hard in order to create a safe and regulated gambling industry in the United States of America. His efforts have certainly been noted by the industry, which is why he is such a memorable name in the gambling business.

He talks have certainly persuaded other politicians to work for devising their own gambling bills.

Frank tried to get one particular bill revoked. This came in the shape of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act; he in fact tried to put forward laws that would counter this above act.

Frank passed a bill in 2007 entitled the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection and Enforcement Acts, which were accepted by the financial services committee.

Frank is all for consumer protections as appose to consumer prohibitions and believes it is up to the consumer to choose how to spend their money.

It is not the government’s responsibility to cease this spending; it is however there responsibility to make these sites safe!
